My 6th period class threw me a surprise baby shower on Friday. I'm sure they had parental help (getting cupcakes, sparkling cider, balloons, etc), but the kids were really proud of organizing it on their own. Several girls ran the games (guess the baby food, how many baby socks fit in the jar, baby word mix ups, etc) and most of the kids decorated onesies or a scrapbook page. I was pretty impressed by the great party these 20 7th graders planned. We're on a block schedule, so the class was almost 2 hours long. Once we finished with the games and presents and food, I felt bad making them do any work so we listened to music and hung out for the rest of the day! A pretty great way to end a Friday afternoon!
