We visited the La Brea Tar Pits today. They have a min replica of the tar pits at the zoo and we thought Sophia would like seeing the fossils. There are several tar ponds in a park right in the middle of Los Angeles and a small museum with fossils of ice age animals that have been excavated from the pits. Except for the very lifelike re-creation of a saber tooth cat attacking a sloth ( "too scary!"), Sophia and the rest of us enjoyed the visit.
