Ben

What has Ben been up to lately? He's still eating, pooping, and sleeping quite a bit. He tags along on our adventures. He is generally a pretty easy going baby and a good sleeper. He has started smiling and cooing. He moves his hands (and sometimes even bats at or grabs things) and can kick with his legs. Like Sophia when she was this age, he's starting to lose his dark head of hair.

When Ben was born, he was 9 & 1/2 pounds and 21.5 inches long. At his two week checkup, he weighed over 11 lbs. He just had his 2 month check up and he was 14 lbs 3 oz and 24.5 inches long. He is BIG! In addition to baby big (what we called him all 9 months in utero), he has many nicknames: Ben, Benny, Ben-Ben, the notorious B-I-G, Mr. Big, Ben-jammin', Benny Boy...

Ben spends more time in the car sear and swing than Sophia, and I also wear him more. He, so far, has avoided any injuries from Sophia's overzealous love! We are still working with her on how to give gentle hugs, kisses, and tickles. She still needs to learn that hitting Ben to get attention or pulling on his legs while he's in the bjorn hurts him. Is this the fate of every second child?

We love how easy a baby is to take out to dinner!

  2. I miss how easy it was to take a baby out to dinner. On our trip this weekend to Pittsburg, it was amazing to sit in a resturant for about 2 hours and chat with old friends. AMAZING.
