Sophia has been able to walk since the end of February, but she was really crawling for the most part. Just this past week her walking has really taken off.
Before, she would walk for maybe five steps between Jake and I with coaching. Suddenly this week, she started letting go of the couch and walking across the room to something else. Yesterday, she was still pulling herself up on something before she started walking. Today she can go from sitting to walking without pulling herself up. These changes feel magical!
It's a great Mother's Day present to see her walking so much! Here's a video we took this morning.
We went to Hatley's park in Rockville on Friday with Katie and Will and Veronica and Clark. Katie and Veronica sat on a bench and talked.
Meanwhile, I chased/shadowed Sophia around the playground. She half crawled/half walked to get around. She loved the park, especially the slides.
Saturday, we had a park cleanup/play group with our Brookland friends. Sophia would crawl up the steps, crawl through a tube, turn around and go down the slide feet first on her belly. She would then walk from the slide back to the steps and repeat the process. She even tolerated the swings at the park (usually she starts screaming when I try to put her in one). Although she had a great time, she wore herself out and fell alseep while eating lunch in her highchair!
I love that she passed out in the high chair! Welcome to the blogsphere!
ReplyDeleteWhere's the picture of her sleeping in the high chair? I think we've got one of Jake.
